I’ve spent so much money on expensive makeup products, mind you i’m not even a professional. I was under the impression that in order to look my best that I had to spend a TON of money. Which sounds completely crazy, right? ****FACEPALM****.

In 2015 when I found out that I was pregnant, I made a promise to myself that I should only spend a ton of money on things that I needed and that I should spend no more than $20.00 on things that I wanted. Lawd knowssssss that I wanted a lot, but…. I had to become a ‘responsible‘ young adult for my unborn baby girl and start getting things ready for her fast approaching arrival.

I don’t actually remember when but during my 7th or 8th month of pregnancy, my older sister added me to a makeup group on Facebook. Inside of that group, they recommended lots of different makeup products, etc. I really should thank them & also thank my sister because if it wasn’t for that makeup group or my older sister, then I would’ve never found out these amazing products actually are.

Since these products are so amazing, as well as budget friendly (you can purchase all 3 products for $20.00 or UNDER)….. I’ve decided to share it with you guys, my fellow makeup gurus and makeup enthusiasts.

Let’s get started…

Fit Me: Dewy+Smooth Foundation: 360 Mocha

My absolute favorite inexpensive foundation is Fit Me: Dewy+Smooth Foundation by Maybelline New York in the shade of 360 Mocha.

Using this foundation is amazing. The texture is super smooth, so you do not have to use a lot of it. Just a small drop will do. This foundation also hydrates your skin.

They offer a wide variety of shades with this foundation line, so that’s a plus. Being that I am a young black woman of a darker shade, it makes finding my shade in foundation a bit harder than it would a woman of lighter skin.

Most of the time when I do wear this foundation, other women do not even know that I have foundation on, that’s a good feeling. This product is perfect for when you’re trying to achieve the ideal “‘no makeup’ – makeup look“. (***This is a term used by makeup gurus, it basically means that you have on makeup but it’s very toned down, soft, and natural looking.***)

Revlon ColorStay Eye Liner Pencil: 203 Brown

My favorite inexpensive eyeliner pencil is the Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner Pencil in 203 Brown.

I love using this eyeliner pencil on my eyebrows simply because it glides on so smoothly, it can last up to 16 hours, and it is waterproof. Plenty of times I fell asleep various places and woke up with my eyebrows still fully intact. That made me feel like I was sleeping beauty. I also had an situation where I was rushing and took a full shower with my brows on HONEYYYYYY those brows were STILL INTACT!!!!!!!!!!!! So I HIGHLYYYYYYYYYYYY recommend this product for all of the makeup gurus out there, it is a must buy.

Last but not least, my favorite inexpensive concealer is the NYX: Professional Makeup Full Coverage Concealer in Nutmeg.

NYX: Professional Makeup Full Coverage Concealer in Nutmeg.

This concealer is has such a dreamy creamy texture, it spreads on smoother than creamy peanut butter on bread and it’s extremely easy to blend. It outlines your brows so perrrrrrfect.

It’s not called “full coverage” for nothing. Listen baby… this concealer could hide the bags under the eyes of a Walker! ****(In case you didn’t catch that little joke, it was a little ‘The Walking Dead’ joke. Where are my Walking Dead Fans at????? *high five*)****

This concealer might be in a tiny jar  but it will truly last for a while.

There 3 products are my favorite when it comes to inexpensive good quality products. If you go shopping at your local TARGET store you will be able to pick up all 3 products for $20.00 or under. If Target is not around you then feel free to order online.

***(If you sign up for the Target Red Card then you will get a percentage off your purchase.)***

Hope you enjoyed this product review post. Do you know any good quality makeup products for $20.00 & Below? If so, please comment your recommendations below.

  1. Yesss! I loved this. Listen, I’ve spent large sums of money on make up and I don’t even know how to use most of them. Lol lord help me. The one thing I do use is foundation. I usually use Clinique but I’m going to try Maybelline. Let’s see how this goes! Also, do you use any black owned make up brands?

    1. LOL I just started recently watching youtube tutorials & I still get lost.

I tried the buttercup setting powder from the makeup brand “Sacha“, I just found out they were black owned. Here’s their link :

I’ve never tried “Juvia’s place” but I’ve read and saw plenty of awesome reviews on their palette’s.

I kept hearing great things about the makeup brand “Black Opal”. I promised myself that the next time I go out for a makeup, but to my disappointment I found out that they are not black owned.

  2. I’m going to have to try that NYX concealer! I’ve actually been on the hunt for a new concealer and I love all the other NYX products I own so I’m def gonna give this one a try. Thanks for the tip!
