What’s in my diaper bag?

Listed below are my top 10 baby products and items I have inside of my diaper bag that I recommend you have in yours:

Portable changing pad –

It is best to have a portable changing pad in your bag. Why? Mainly due to the fact that public bathroom changing stations possess a ton of bacteria so by having your own portable changing pad, you do not have to put your baby on that filthy changing station. Also because the baby will definitely have to be changed anywhere and anytime, so it’s always good to carry it around.

(You never know when the baby is going to have an exploding diaper!)

Diapers, of course –

My absolute favorite diaper brand to use is Huggies. Selecting the right diaper brand is determined by your little one.

My daughter experienced really bad eczema when she was born. So diapers such as Luvs and Pampers would cause bad breakouts, mainly due to those diaper brands being scented. Her skin was super sensitive and those brands made scaly eczema patches appear.

(If your child is suffering from bad eczema you might want to try Huggies, they’re my go-to for diapers.)

Diaper rash cream –

Diaper cream is certainly great to have when you are you’re away from home. Your youngster doesn’t need to have a diaper rash in order to use the cream. You can still apply a small amount on the little one to prevent a diaper rash as well.

(My personal favorite diaper rash cream to use is Desitin, which happens to be a powerful cream! You might want to pick some up.)

Baby blanket –

Be sure to have a baby blanket in your trusty diaper bag in the event your little one gets cold. You can even use it for when your little one gets exhausted and eventually ends up taking a nap.

Sippy cup or bottle –

You absolutely need a sippy cup or feeding bottle filled with some kind of fluid, to quench your young ones thirst. (Personally, my daughter will go absolutely nuts without one.)

(My favorite sippy cup brand is Nuby. They have a wide selection of sippy cups to choose from.)

Extra pair of clothes (an extra outfit) –

You just can never predict how that next diaper might be. You will not know if it’s going to be an exploding diaper or if it’s going to be a tsunami diaper, therefore do not forget to include an extra outfit.

(Believe me, I learned my lesson by not having a spare outfit during a birthday celebration for my daughter’s older brother. It was the most regretful day ever for me.

My daughter had a stomach virus and I did not realized how bad it actually was. Until she ended up passing gas and the whole diaper lit up. Mind you, she had on an extremely cute dress and legging’s outfit. The leggings were WHITE!  I am still upset with myself.)

Baby Wipes –

Listen, baby wipes aren’t only useful for the baby. You may use them for almost everything! Getting rid of dirt from your little one’s hands, wiping them down, wiping their face…. if you’re a makeup enthusiast similar to myself, then you can even remove your makeup.

You are able to do a lot with a baby wipe, so do not underestimate the power of the wipe!

(My favorite brand to use is Babyganics Face, Hand & Baby Wipes, Fragrance Free.)

Baby lotion –

I usually keep this inside my diaper bag simply because my little girl has eczema and I have to keep her skin moisturized to reduce the chances of scaly patches from emerging on her skin.

(My very favorite baby lotion is Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion, For Delicate Skin, Fragrance Free.)

Snacks –

I cannot stress this enough, having snack foods for your youngster is a must ! Especially when you’re on the move. I really like Mott’s Applesauce Squeeze food for my daughter.

(Having snack foods available will help you keep your child’s belly full for a little period of time.)

Some type of entertainment –

You absolutely need something to keep your children entertained. For example, a storybook, a toy, a tablet, etc. Your little one could get fussy or annoyed from boredom, therefore you need to keep them busy.

Great news, there are so many new baby software applications available in the Google Play Store and the IOS marketplace, check them out and download a few to keep your child occupied.

(I usually give my daughter my iPhone to play on or I have some books to read to her and  keep her occupied.)
