In today’s world, we have so many different types of social media networks. It can get a little overwhelming at times. Especially if you have a lot of negative individuals on your social media.

Negativity can be contagious! I highly recommend that you avoid it.

Having said that, a few months ago I decided to take a little break from all of my social medias so that I could ditch the negative souls of the world. I ditched my main social medias for about two whole weeks and let me just tell you guys…. those two weeks felt amazing.

I’ve discovered three main reasons why you should think about ditching your social media for at least two weeks.

Below are the 3 reasons…

#1

Peaceful mind –

It’s so much more peaceful when you’re not constantly reading negative things or seeing negative videos. A lot of people on Facebook and Instagram just love to throw shots at other individuals. It can be entertaining at times but most of the time it’s highly annoying.

Somedays I even contemplate asking them… can you please deactivate your page?

Ditching your social media could assist you with finding your inner peace. When you ditch your social media you won’t have to look at that type of toxic nonsense.

You’ll feel more at peace for sure.

I know I did.

#2

Shade-less –

Similar to what I stated above, almost everyone has at least one friend who is always saying shady things (on the low, of course).

That friend that is always talking bad about people for no reason or posting up shady subliminal messages, about any and every one because they’re unhappy in life.

Ditching your social media could help you avoid dealing with that shade.

Although, you could simply block them or unfriend them.

My block list is as long as the Rapunzel’s hair! Recently it grew.

#3

Criticism free zone –

You can avoid all the unnecessary criticism that you’ll be getting from your family or friends.

For example: You want to show off your new bikini or new hairdo, there will always be someone who has to state their unnecessary criticism or unasked for opinion under your photo or status. Someone would comment something like “Girl put some clothes on”, or “you’re an attention seeker”.

Someone somewhere will have something bad to say.

That’s just how social media is.

Ditching your social media will prevent you from having to deal with the people who like to talk smack.

(Please pay attention to ones who like to say this with the “LOL” followed behind the negative comment, they are the biggest haters as well as the biggest fans, and they watch whatever you do just so that they could have something to say. )

Overall…

Ditching my social media handles for a few weeks made me feel extremely free and peaceful. You should give it a try!

If you have already done this, I would like to know what you experienced.
