March Ipsy Glam Bag Review

(Disclosure: I was not compensated for writing this review. However, I did insert a referral link, so I could receive points. Any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.)

In March I received an awesome Ipsy Glam Bag. What made this specific bag so awesome? It was a DIY Glam Bag! Like what?!? It came with two markers, one pink and one blue. My daughter, Chyanne had a field day. Ha! You could’ve sworn that the bag was sent to her.

So I decided to turn it into a family project and it kept her busy for approximately 20 minutes. We decorated the bag together. Below is a photo of our beautiful creation/ unfinished DIY Ipsy Glam Bag.

Sorry for the blur.

Now babes, let me give you all of the deets (details) because you know, The Melanin Gawddess does not hold back.

RODIAL:

Glamobrow in Dark Ash Brown –

To be honest, I usually prefer brow pencils over brow pomade. So when I found out that my March Ipsy Glam Bag was going to have a brow pencil in it, I was freaking thrilled!

The pros and cons of the product:

Pros:

  • The color wasn’t too dark, it stood out just fine. It didn’t look so make-upish. It made my brows look a bit more natural.
  • Dual ended. There’s a brow pencil on one side and a built in spoolie on the other. Which was great because I did not feel like finding my spoolie in my makeup drawer.
  • Smudge Proof! Which makes it ideal for using if you’re a busy body.

Just check it out below in my photo:

Shakiema Harris tmg

Cons:

  • Thin: this eyebrow pencil is extremely fine. It will break on you if you are not too careful.

I rate this product a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Why?

Personally, I believe that this product would be sooooo much better if the pencil stil was a bit thicker.

ANDALOU NATURALS:

1000 Roses Body Lotion

I love lotion. I love keeping my skin moisturized!

The pros and cons of the product:

Pros:

  • Minimum scent: In the description on Ipsy they stated that this product smells like a bouquet of roses. I have to disagree with that statement. This product has no smell. It smells like water. It has a very faint scent but it does not smell like a bouquet of roses to me. Rose water maybe, but a whole bouquet of roses? NOPE!
  • Medium texture: It is not too thick but it is not watery. It will keep your skin moisturized. I like to throw this product in my purse and take it on the go.
  • Features a good blend of great moisturizing elements such as argan oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, and aloe-vera.

Cons:

Absolutely none! It kept my skin hydrated and moisturized most of the day.

Although this product has little to no smell. I still give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.

Why?

Mainly due to it keeping my skin well moisturized. Honey, I went clubbing on March 24th, I had this lotion in my purse. I used this product once while out and it kept my skin completely hydrated the whole entire time I danced and sung my heart out!

Therefore, this product is nightclub proof!

TARTE COSMETICS:

Sex Kitten Eyeliner

Eyeliners used to be my thing back when I first got infatuated with makeup.

The pros and cons of the product:

Pros:

  • Creamy texture: Makes it ideal for easy application
  • Bold: If you apply this product along your lower lash line it will definitely make your eyes pop!
  • Waterproof: So go on and cry your eyes out, it will not fade or go away.

Cons:

None!

This product is really good. I rate this product a 5 out of 5 stars.

DIRTY LITTLE SECRET COSMETICS:

Baked Highlighter in Prosecco

I am in love with highlighters! You can never go wrong with a little bit of highlighter.

The pros and cons of the product:

Pros:

  • The shade: It’s perfect if you have a complexion similar to mines. It’s absolutely stunning on women of color.
  • Texture: It has such a smooth texture. It will not have you feeling like a cake face.
  • Not too small: Perfect for taking it on the go.

Cons:

  • Re apply about twice. Nothing too major. Thank goodness

I actually like this highlighter a lot. I give this product a 5 out of 5 stars.

GLOSSIER:

Balm Dotcom in Coconut:

This product actually confused me. Simply because it has no basic instructions on the packaging.

The pros and cons of the product:

Pros:

  • Hydrates my lips.
  • Can be used for multiple things. You can use it on your lips, use it on your skin, and use it wherever you freaking please. How dope is that?

Cons:

  • Confusing packaging: It made no sense on what I was supposed to use this product on. I had to look on Ipsy’s website to find out what the heck I was supposed to use it on.
  • Super small: resemble super glue. I don’t understand how they expect us to use this product everywhere if it is so tiny?

So I am only going to give this product a 3.5 star out of 5.

Why?

Mainly because my lips broke out really bad this week, this product was the only product to save my dried out lips. Regular vaseline was not working.

Overall:

I loved Ipsy Glam Bag for the month of March. I actually enjoyed all of these products.

My April Ipsy Glam Bag is on the way, so stay tuned and look for my review that will be up in a few weeks.
